Oh, hey!
Thank you for stopping by here. I know it’s been years since I’ve posted anything and that was extremely rude of me.
The truth is, if you remember, I used to religiously write horror movie reviews on this blog in 2015. I don’t know about you, but I sort of thought they were fun! At least, I had a great time writing them. So you’re probably wondering, “if it was so great, then why did you stop?”
Let me explain…
I had so much fun writing horror movie reviews, that my 2 best friends and I started a horror/comedy podcast called Queens of NC-17. Every single week we watch a horror movie and give you a verbal breakdown, almost like I used to do here on this blog, except there’s 3 of us, it’s way funnier, and it is 3 years strong! As I write this, we have over 150 episodes of hilarity.
Trust me, Queens of NC-17 is way more fun than this blog ever was! (You can check out the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and Google Play.)
But, truthfully, I miss writing on here! I miss having a space dedicated to something that I am passionate about. It’s taken some time for me to consider what I can do on my own again that I will enjoy. What other passions do I have besides Queens, my dogs, and sucking back way too much food for my own good…?
This morning it struck me!
Before I tell you… Let’s start here…
I currently have a job where I crush about 2-3 audio books per week.
I know, I know… Before I even move forward, I know there are a few of you out there thinking, “reading is so much better than audio books,” and “listening to audio books isn’t the same as reading!”
If that’s really the way you feel, then you can frig right off! Three books a week, each about 8-18 hours long… Go ahead and try to find that kind of time in my current schedule. I dare you. That’s 24-54 hours a week. If you can find it, I’ll do your laundry for the rest of your life!
I’ll just say this…
Audio books are a great way to find the time to read the books you’ve been starving yourself of. I can multitask at work and it’s beautiful! After starting the podcasts, (we have a second podcast as well,) which I also edit all of the episodes for, I never thought I would be able to have the proper time to dedicate to reading.
Audio books are a way I can have my cake and eat it too.
So, here we go! Have you guessed it, yet?
I have decided that I will be using this space to provide an honest opinion of the books I am reading.
The types of books you can expect to see here are True Crime, Horror, Mystery, and some extremely embarrassing Romance novels from time to time. (I am a sleazy woman after all. Don’t hate me for it, please.)
I am extremely excited to start this journey, and if anyone liked my opinion on horror movies, I hope to see you here to discuss, review, and recommend some good books!
Let’s be book buddies, shall we?
No book is off limits.
Let’s do this.
